This is my Blueberry Power Smoothie to help me take charge of my mornings and nutrition!
I am the type of person that likes to have a handful of go-to recipes on hand so my daily eats are easy and healthy. I keep these ingredients on hand at all time which makes staying on track that much easier… and did I mention this smoothie is absolutely delicious? I have seriously had this smoothie just about every day for the last few months. It is a perfect smoothie for mornings before work or the gym or even as a post workout meal. It keeps you full and gives your body the fuel it needs with whole, nutritious ingredients.
- 140 Grams Frozen Blueberries
- 1/2 cup Oats
- 32 Grams Almond Butter
- Almond Milk
- 150 grams Greek Yogurt
- 60 Grams Spinach
- 1 Scoop Pure Goodness Hemp Seed Protein
If you would like more of a snack-worthy smoothie, cut the ingredients in half.
Lets talk about the whole nutritious ingredients for a moment!
First of all, almond butter will always be in my life. It is my favorite source of fat and the Justin’s Almond Butter in Honey just taste sooo good! Almonds are good for the heart and give you energy!
Greek yogurt is an awesome source of protein which helps build muscle and repair tissue and is rich in amino acids which makes it a perfect post workout. It also contains vitamin B-12 which boosts your energy and is important for brain function. Another bonus is that its filled with probiotics which aids digestion.
Blueberries are rich in antioxidants and boost immune system.
Oats are rich in soluble and insoluble fiber which helps burn fat! Winner. Winner.
Spinach is something I try to add to my meal at any opportunity I get. There are so many benefits its unreal. Spinach is an antioxidant and rich in many vitamins. The best part is that spinach has twice the amount of iron as any other green, which is important for me because my body is borderline anemic and I need as much iron as I can get! (I think most women have this issue as well, so load up on your spinach ladies!)
This Hemp Seed Protein by Pure Goodness is the best tasting vegan protein I have come across. I remember when I first received this protein I was afraid to try it after the other proteins I have tried but to my surprise it actually tasted delightful and enhanced my smoothies! I have the vanilla flavor which is the only one I have tried so far. Not only is this protein vegan but its GMO free, gluten free, soy free, dairy free and paleo-friendly. I may not be any of these things but it is nice to have a supplement that I know is pure to its core and can give my body a break from all any processed foods I may eat throughout the day.
