Creative Community: We’re All Human After All
“Devote yourself to your community around you. Devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.” -Mitch Albom
In the last couple of months I have spent a lot of time meeting and working with new, creative, incredible individuals in the Dallas area. The community here has been beyond amazing and I have somehow found my way to it. To say I feel blessed to have been involved in even one conversation with these talented, driven individuals is an understatement. To spend time talking and sharing ideas and visions with these people has made me realize that our dreams really are in reach. I have learned that I am the most outdated millennial around but they find it humorous, so it works out.
What I have really learned from these moments with these beautiful humans is that you’re not alone in whatever you aspire to do. There are people out there just like you, chasing their dreams and following their own vision. There are people just like you who might still be in school, still working a normal job and spending time on their passions in hopes to make it their career one day. There are other people out there wandering around, trying to find their place. To feel for once like I can relate to those around me has been an incredible change of pace.
And would you be surprised to hear that I formed most of these relationships by reaching out through Instagram? Social media is a tool, use it! Reach out to others and be surprised how open they are to form relationships too. We’re all a little more alike than we believe, when it comes to human nature we all just want to be understood, loved and heard.
I encourage you to reach out to those around you that you have always been inspired by. Even if its for nothing at all in return but just to provide support. We are a community, together we need to work to make the dream come true.
